Good Morning ❤

When people ask me what I am pursuing in my life to make it better, I usually respond with education or career development in order to make a point that I am actively bettering myself. We all know that there is much more to bettering yourself than education and career development. Not discrediting the education or career fields, but we also need to take stock in what makes us willing to wake up in the morning outside of a paycheck or a good grade. Nihilism has made it’s way to the forefront of our mainstream culture, it is trendy now to cite depressing anecdotes about how “if I wasn’t at work I would be at home wanting to die” or something to that effect. But what in the actual eff are we trying to say when we state things like that? Most people, even those who gravitate to the nihilistic mentality would consider life a way better alternative to death.

Meaning is everything. I’ll say that again for the people in the back. MEANING IS EVERYTHING.

If you really want to wake up in the morning and get out there and get yours then you need a solid and well defined meaning to place in front of yourself. You can’t keep going on for very long with the premise that your existence is solely for those around you in the workplace that need those reports. They will have your job listing out before your funeral (and that’s no lie my friend). So what are you going to place at your foundation in order to appropriately gauge what your intentions are in this small time period we call existence. It started with getting spanked, and it’ll end (hopefully) with our loved ones with us near our bed. And don’t get it twisted it will come sooner than you can shake a stick at.

Be grateful to those in your life that provide meaning.

Take stock in that which you’re thankful for.

Be kind to those around you (even those that don’t deserve it).

And my personal favorite one to remember when I’m feeling down. It’s okay to feel sorry for yourself for a time, but after the dust settles, you need to get your stuff together and get back to living; there are other’s out there rooting for you, and some of them are not with us anymore.

Love,
